In the past two years the guild has sewn and donated a total of
482 “Hugs”
(children’s quilts) to the following organizations:
Mary Bridge Children's Oncology Dept - Tacoma
Quilts are given to children diagnosed with cancer. The quilts are used during chemotherapy and at home.
Western Washington Candlelighters - Children's Hospital & Fred Hutchison Hospital/Seattle, Madigan Hospital/Tacoma. Quilts are given to children diagnosed with cancer. They use their quilts during chemotherapy and at home.
PICC - Pediatric Intern Care Center - Kent
Blankets are given to babies addicted to Meth and other drugs.
Vine Maple Place - Maple Valley
Quilts are given to children in transitional housing and support services for homeless single mothers.
Valley Medical Ctr-Intensive Newborn Care Unit - Kent
Quilts/blankets are given to life-threatened premature babies who are in ICU.
Ryther Child Center - Seattle
Quilts are given to emotionally, physically and sexually abused children.
